The Twinkling St. Germain New Year’s Cocktail

A few years ago, I first heard about the cocktail The Twinkle when Stanley Tucci featured it on his Instagram. The name alone immediately captured my imagination - light, celebratory, and perfect for ringing in the New Year. While it sounded delightful to both of us, he ultimately decided it wasn’t quite to his taste. Still, I couldn’t let go of the idea. Between the name and the way it evokes sparklers, shimmer, and celebration, I always felt it deserved a place at a New Year’s toast.

This Thanksgiving, my sister asked my husband to make a variation of a St. Germain cocktail, and I was instantly smitten. With the addition of lemon and a splash of something bubbly, it reminded me so much of The Twinkle - fresh, elegant, and effortlessly festive. That moment inspired me to share this version with you, which I’ve named The Twinkling St. Germain.

Below, I’ve included the recipes for both The Twinkle and a classic St. Germain cocktail, so you have them on hand as well.

This cocktail is truly lovely. The floral notes of the St. Germain liqueur are gently balanced by bright lemon juice, keeping it light and refreshing rather than overly rich - exactly the kind of drink I enjoy lingering over as the year comes to a close.
